Healthy Habits for Healthy Humans
Indoor Air Quality
We spend a lot of time inside our homes, especially during the cold Canadian winters. The air we breathe is important to our health. Tips for improving indoor air quality:
- If you smoke or vape, consider quitting. Always smoke or vape outside, and stay away from windows, doors, and air handling intakes to keep the smoke/vape outside.
- When using woodstoves or fireplaces, ensure it is CSA approved
- Install a carbon monoxide detector if you burn wood, oil, natural gas or propane
- Choose scent-free products for cleaning and personal care
- Avoid buying stain resistant and flame retardant fabrics or furniture covers
- Avoid air fresheners, candles, scent burners, or incense
- Test your home for radon
