We spend a lot of time inside our homes, especially during the cold Canadian winters. The air we breathe is important to our health. Tips for improving indoor air quality:

  • If you smoke or vape, consider quitting. Always smoke or vape outside, and stay away from windows, doors, and air handling intakes to keep the smoke/vape outside.
  • When using woodstoves or fireplaces, ensure it is CSA approved
  • Install a carbon monoxide detector if you burn wood, oil, natural gas or propane
  • Choose scent-free products for cleaning and personal care
  • Avoid buying stain resistant and flame retardant fabrics or furniture covers
  • Avoid air fresheners, candles, scent burners, or incense
  • Test your home for radon
